Up for sale is a fully restored and working 1987 Talking and interactive Jill doll from playmates toys!
Jill was a doll wonder way ahead of her time. She isn’t really a doll, but more of a small robot animatronic. She was too expensive and sophisticated to be a child’s toy, and almost bankrupted playmates toys. She was brought out in 1987 and quickly discontinued within her first year of production. She has become quite rare, and almost impossible to find working.
I am one of very few people that has spent years researching and restoring these fascinating retro toys. She is very complex to fix and has many obsolete parts. She can only come to life with her special cassette cartridges. Which are also hard to find. One will be included. These tapes have run for 37 years, so none will sound perfect.

Jill comes in her full original outfit, and has been cleaned. She has her shoes but there is some mold on the bottom heel area which is very common. Her hair has been painstakingly cleaned and reset to look new again. Imagine trying to wash and style a 13 pound robots hair. Not an easy task!
She has fully function arms that move up and down with the story, as well as her head turns left to right. Her mouth moves, and her eyes look left and right with occasional eye blinks! She has a volume wheel to turn her up and down.
She is clean and has no battery corrosion, and her fuse has been replaced so it should last years to come! All her joints are in working order and no stains on her plastic limbs that I could see.
I always give the disclaimer that Jill is working and comes as is that way, but she is old, extremely fragile, and could act up at any moment. So this doll requires upkeep and also could fail at any point. She is wonderful, but who knows how many more years she has in her.
Oh and she runs on 4 D and 2 AA Batteries (not included of course)
Her shipping could be high, but she has to go in a tall box with lots of bubble wrap. I spend a good $10-15 on shipping material to make sure she is secure and ready for the rough journey through the postal system haha.
